StretchMetal is becoming AMA
Starting on October 1, 2026, our parent nonprofit StretchMetal and member program, the Atmospheric Music Alliance, will come together under one name: the Atmospheric Music Alliance (AMA).
This change comes from our reflections over the last two years since launching AMA and discovering how impactful it has been for our community. We’ve seen how much is possible when artists and listeners have a place to gather, share resources, and support one another through creative exchange. Our goal with this merger under the AMA name is to allow us more room to support artists through funding, workshops, and listening spaces around the country.
Whether you’ve been here since the early StretchMetal days, camping out at the Drone Sleepovers in our apartment buildings throughout Chicago, or found us through AMA, we’re glad you are here.
To help us celebrate this new chapter, folks who becomes a member at any tier during the first two weeks of October will receive a free limited-edition AMA hat featuring artwork by Nat King. All contributions help support ambient music and the artists who sustain it.
